World New Music Days

Grande Auditório do Centro Cultural de Belém
Fri 30 May 21:00

The Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and the Metropolitana Soloists are joining Miso Music Portugal and the International Society for Contemporary Music in programming the World New Music Days, a centenary festival that will be held in Portugal for the first time in 2025. In this Opening Concert of the festival, soprano Camila Mandillo joins the OML and conductor Pedro Neves to interpret the anguishing beauty that resonates in Claude Vivier’s Lonely Child and the exuberance of Ligeti’s opera Mysteries of the Macabre. Completing the program, among other pieces, is one of the last testimonies to the important legacy of Constança Capdeville and a “salute” by João Madureira to contemporary Portuguese music.
