Learning outcomes

Reinforce the objectives of the previous semesters.
Acquire technical skills in the direction of bar 1.
Acquire technical skills in the direction of the bars composed (6/8,9/8,12/8).
Overcome technical difficulties related to time changes and time signature changes.
Develop the notion of melodic conduction, a keen sense of phrasing, rhythmic accuracy and timbre definition.
Address the problem of rehearsal.
Ensure an effective oral and gestural communication, constructive and mobilizing.
Be able to apply an efficient rehearsal methodology in the process of detecting, analyzing and solving problems.
Develop the ability to plan and manage rehearsal time.
Acquire levels of self-confidence that favor a safe regency on stage.

Syllabus

The syllabus consists of the study of the orchestra repertoire with predominance in the composers of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

Teaching methodologies

METHODOLOGY

The teaching methodology of the course is structured by monthly cycles.
The first three weeks are dedicated to the individual preparation of the repertoire and have academic follow-up within the framework of the curricular unit Technique course, Theory of Orchestra Conducting.
Classes of the curricular unit Orchestra Conducting take place in the third and fourth week of each cycle in the form of an internship of five orchestral rehearsals.
The fourth week concludes with the public presentations.
The training instrument of the course is the Metropolitan Academic Orchestra (OAM).
Students occasionally conduct OAM at concerts according to their learning objectives.
