AEANSO was founded on 6 May 2015, with the following objectives:To contribute to the participation of its members in the discussion of educational problems;
1. To contribute to the full integration of its members into school life;
2. To promote initiatives aimed at the musical enrichment of its members;
3. To promote the sporting, cultural, civic and scientific development of its members.
The current AEANSO board took office on 3 November 2019 and have organised various initiatives, including:
> The creation of a collaboration protocol with the Language & Company language school, making it possible for ANSO students to attend German lessons in exchange for collaborations with the Orquestra Académica Portuguesa; teaching internships at LAC Música or paying for lessons;
> Organising AE auditions with the aim of bringing together various instrument classes and chamber music groups;
> Close contact with the ANSO and AMEC management in order to raise concerns and specific problems that arise during the school year and collaborate in finding solutions;
> Planning social activities for the student community.
