What is EQAVET?
EQAVET (an acronym for European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training) is the reference tool for promoting and monitoring the improvement of European vocational education and training systems.
EQAVET emphasises the importance of fostering a culture of quality improvement and accountability, both at the system level and among vocational education and training providers.
Member States are encouraged to develop and use this tool on a voluntary basis, with its main users being national and regional authorities, as well as public and private bodies responsible for quality assurance and improvement in vocational education and training.
It assigns an important role to systematic self-assessment and includes mechanisms for both internal and external evaluation, which should be defined by the Member States.
