Speaking of the New Year, Fernando Pessoa wrote a poem describing it as ‘The fiction that something is beginning!’ and that, like a river, ‘it begins only in thought’. Well then, let it be in thought. Preferably, inspired by good music. Music has this magic. In its most virtuous form, however centuries-old it may be, it has the power to transform us whenever we attach importance to it. Be it waltzes or polkas… it lends itself to reflection, but also to change. It adds something different to time, which never stops and is always new. The charm of facing another 365 days lies in the fact that they are not yet history, as if they were 365 blank bars. Happy 2027!
