Bilhetes à vendaThe musicians of the Metropolitana and conductor Adrian Leaper invite us to wander through idyllic settings and bucolic contemplations. The “soundtrack” brings together the signatures of three composers from distant times and places. In 1842, Felix Mendelssohn was inspired by the ruins of Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh to compose the famous Scottish Symphony. In 1918, the young António Fragoso painted the nights of Lisbon at the piano; impressionist pages that were given new life in an orchestration by Jorge Croner de Vasconcellos. In 2018, Pēteris Vasks wanted to remember her childhood in rural Latvia. To do so, she chose the most pastoral of all instruments, the oboe, played here by Carla Pereira.
