Bilhetes à vendaGaetano Donizetti became famous for his operas, such as Lucrezia Borgia and Don Pasquale. Charles Gounod for his opera Faust and for Ave Maria, based on a Bach Prelude, one of the most beautiful melodies ever. On the other hand, Joachim Raff, author of operas, concertos, symphonies… had great prestige in his time, but has practically fallen into oblivion. In either case, they left us extensive catalogs that still have a lot to discover. The wind ensembles of the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra have something to say about this. Two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons and two horns – that’s all it takes to bring to life three pearls of music history signed by these composers. These are three emblematic works from the very rich repertoire for wind instruments.
