Bilhetes à vendaSince music is a universal language that encompasses all kinds of cultures and their respective musical aesthetics, this concert will take the listener on a musical journey to the four corners of the world, from Borodin’s depiction of the Central Asian Steppes, through Holst’s orchestration of traditional Japanese songs, to the festive music of Bollywood in Balmages’ “Homage to Bharat,” and concluding with Portuguese music by composer Pedro Pires, inspired by the Azorean legend of Brianda.
This concert will also feature the winner of the INATEL Musical Merit Award Competition—Secondary Level, clarinetist Pedro Doninha, who will perform as a soloist with the Metropolitana Classical Orchestra.
