Bilhetes à vendaMark O’Connor is an American violinist and composer known for his versatility as an instrumentalist, but also for his ability to bring together different musical styles in his projects; traditional American music (bluegrass, country and blues) with Celtic music and classical music in sophisticated arrangements. Here, in a violin and double bass duo, the Solistas da Metropolitana perform, among other pieces, Appalachia Waltz, a gospel song of our time, and Poem for Carlita, a musical poem inspired by the waves of the sea. They also perform five tangos by Astor Piazzolla, transformed in a reinterpretation by German double bassist Andreas Wiebecke-Gottstein. This reveals more facets of the New Tango, with emphasis on the famous Adiós Nonino, composed in 1959 following the news of the death of Piazzolla’s father. In between, we also have the opportunity to attend the world premiere of Heterónimos by Nahuel Aníbal Valle, also an Argentine composer. As the title suggests, it is a work inspired by the literary universe of Fernando Pessoa. First, Aurora and Insomnia, in an evocation of Bernardo Soares, then Pessoa himself, and finally The Master, The Cult and The Neurotic, about Alberto Caeiro, Ricardo Reis and Álvaro de Campos.
