Musical instruments talk to each other a lot. Sometimes they play in harmony, like great friends. Others they seem not to agree and argue vigorously. In the midst of this racket you can hear all kinds of sounds. The sounds themselves dialogue among themselves: the high with the low, the soft with the penetrating, the noisy with the more discreet… All have something to say. In this concert two lines of argument stand out. The first contrasts the flute and a string trio formed by a violin, a viola and a cello. The second confronts the music of the past with the music of the present. The Metropolitana’s Soloists can promise that everything will end well.
