In the spirit of Christmas, the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra invites us to listen to some melodies that always appear at this time of year… but this time in a different guise. These are orchestral versions (re)composed by Peter Breiner to sound like baroque music – in other words, like composers such as Bach, Händel and Vivaldi. They say that “Christmas is every day”. But there are also composers who are forever, like Mozart. This concert also features Symphony No. 40, which begins with a melody we all recognize immediately.
