Tickets for saleInstead of Winthon Marsalis’ “The Story of the Violinist”, the same musicians will perform “The Story of Little Ivan”, a composition by Isabelle Aboulker that will be complemented with explanations and various musical examples. This change does not alter the previous logistical configuration, nor does it compromise the general purpose of the show. It is therefore aimed at the same audience and will last approximately 50 minutes.
Little Ivan’s Story is a musical tale for narrator and seven instruments – clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, violin, double bass and percussions. With obvious resonances of the famous The Soldier’s Story, composed by Igor Stravinsky in 1918, this is a didactic creation signed in 2010 by the French composer Isabelle Aboulker. The quarter notes and eighth notes participate and intervene in the story of the adventure of a young man called Ivan who refuses to be a soldier.
