Nonna Manicheva was born in 1986 in Chelyabinsk (Russia) into a religious family – her father is a priest of the Orthodox Church. She started piano studies at the age of three under the guidance of her own parents. In 1995 she moved to Novosibirsk (Siberia) to study at the Central Music School with professor Yuri Volgin. At the same time she studied composition and was awarded at a regional contest of Siberian composers. She has also participated in several chamber music festivals and international competitions.
In 2002 she moved to Moscow to attend the Moscow Music School with professor Marina Kesselman. In 2007 she obtained a diploma with the highest marks and was admitted to the Moscow State Conservatory, where she studied with professors Maya Glezarova and Marina Kesselman. She completed this course in 2012.
In 2009, she started collaborating with the Kremlin Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Misha Rakhlevsky. During this period, she played as a soloist with the same orchestra and performed in several chamber music concerts held in Turkey and the USA, as well as touring the USA, Europe, Mexico, South America, China and England. In 2013 she was admitted to the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra, where she worked until September 2019. At the same institution, she has also participated in numerous chamber music projects.
