João Moreira, born in Cucujães, Oliveira de Azeméis, began his musical studies at the Music Academy of Oliveira de Azeméis, with professor Jaime Barbosa. He studied at Escola Profissional de Música de Espinho, in the class of Sérgio Charrinho, continuing with the same professor at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra, where he graduated. Completed the Masters in Performance in 2012 with the reference trumpeter Matthias Höfs, at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater, in Hamburg (Germany). As a soloist, he has performed solo with the MusicAeterna Orchestra (Perm, Russia), with the Rostov Academic Symphony Orchestra (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) and with the Southern Classical Orchestra.
He was the winner of the 1st Prize / Higher Level of the Young Musicians Prize. In the United States of America, he was awarded the 2nd Prize of the ITG Contest (International Trumpet Guild), in the Soloist Class and in Orchestral Excerpts. He was also the winner of the 1st Prize of the Terras La-Salette Competition (Junior and Senior levels).
Between 2012 and 2017, he was Trompete Solo at the MusicAeterna Orchestra, in Perm (Russia), with conductor Teodor Currentzis, where he played in countless internationally renowned halls and festivals. He was a soloist trumpet in the Classical Southern Orchestra from 2017 to 2019. Currently, he is a soloist trumpet in the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa.
