Oboe

Carla Lourenço Pereira was born on September 21, 1998 in Rennes, France.

She has been a B Soloist (Oboe and English Horn) with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra since January 2022. He was an academician at the WDR Sinfonieorchester in Köln, Germany in 2020 and 2021.

He is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Music Teaching at the Lisbon School of Music. In 2020 he finished his degree in Music at ESMAE in the class of Professor Ricardo Lopes. He attended the Master’s in Performance at the Robert Schumann Hochschule – Düsseldorf, in the class of Prof. Ralph van Daal. From September 2019 to February 2020, she attended the Conservatorium Maastricht, in the Netherlands, in the class of Prof. Ralph van Daal, as part of the Erasmus program. He completed the Professional Course for Wind and Percussion Instrumentalists at the Jobra Conservatory of Music in the class of Prof. Ana Madalena Silva. She completed her Articulated Teaching at the same Conservatoire with Prof. Jonathan Costa. She began her musical studies with Professor Fernanda Amorim.

In 2019 she was selected for the final audition of the Orchestre Française des Jeunes and was also selected for the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (NJO)-Winter Tour 2020.

She has won prizes in several competitions, such as: “Terras de La Salettte” International Wind Instruments Competition, in 2019, 1st prize, Senior category. In the chamber music category: in 2017, 3rd prize in the “Cidade de Alcobaça International Chamber Music Competition”, in the Junior category, with the ReQuintet Wind Quintet.

He performed solo in October 2020 with the WDR Sinfonieorchester with Mozart’s “Concerto in C Major” under the direction of Joseph Bastian, and also in March 2018 with the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra with the work “Ich Habe Genung” – Cantata for Oboe, Strings, Continuous Bass and Bass (Baritone Rui Baeta) under the direction of conductor Osvaldo Ferreira.

He has collaborated with orchestras such as: WDR Sinfonieorchester, Kölner Kammerorchester, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Orquestra Gulbenkian, Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa, Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa, Orquestra Estágio Gulbenkian, Orquestra de Guimarães, Orquestra Sinfónica de Loures, Orquestra Municipal de Sintra, Euregio Chamber Orchestra, Euregio Young Orchestra, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra Filarmonia de Gaia, Orquestra Sinfónica de Jovens de Santa Maria da Feira, among others.

He has worked with renowned teachers such as: Ralph Van Daal, David Walter, Simon Fuchs, Christopher Koppitz, Viola Wilson, Jacques Tys, Hélène Devilleneuve, Louise Pellerin, Christian Schmitt, Diethelm Johnas, Robert Silla, Omar Zoboli, Christian Wetzel, Samuel Bastos, Luíz Perez, João Barroso, Ricardo Lopes, Pedro Ribeiro, Aldo Salvetti, Catarina Castro, Manuel Bilz, Jérémy Sassano, Maarten Dekkers, Svetlin Doytchinov, Fernanda Amorim, Jonathan Costa, Ana Madalena Silva, Andreia Carvalho and Ina Stock (Oboe Baroque) and Jean-Michel Garretti.

He is a member of the Humorictus Ensemble – Wind Quintet.

She has taught at various schools, including: Loureiro Music Band School (2014-2017), António Pinho Music School (2017-2019). She supervised the oboe section at the Vale de Cambra Symphonic Band Internship in 2019 and at the 4th Summer Internship of the Carregosa Music Band School in 2023. Since 2022 she has been teaching oboe and harpsichord in the Orquestra Geração Project and oboe in the Banda Municipal de Oeiras.
