Piano Accompaniment

Júlia Mikirtumova began her musical studies in 1981 at the Dmitri Shostakovich Music School in Moscow. In 1994 she completed a course in choral conducting at the State Academic Music School of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Higher Conservatory, also in Moscow. Between 1994 and 1998 she continued her studies at the Higher Academy of Choral Art, specialising in singing. She took part in masterclasses under the guidance of Mercé Obiol and Liliana Bizineche, among others.

She has lived in Portugal since 1999, where she has been teaching in various schools across the country. She teaches singing at the Conservatório Regional de Tavira, Conservatório de Música de Albufeira and Escola Profissional de Música in Almada. She works as a pianist-accompanist at Escola de Música de Nossa Senhora do Cabo.

She taught piano and musical training at the Centro Nacional de Artes Musicais in Lisbon, where she applied her own method of teaching music developed especially for ages 4 to 10. In 2004 and 2005 she was conductor of the Conservatório de Música da Metropolitana Choir.

As a singer, she has collaborated with various groups and organisations, including the Moscow Piano Quartet, Orquestra da Escola Profissional de Música de Espinho, Orquestra do Algarve, Centro Musical de Maria João Pires, in Belgais, and Centro Cultural de Belém.

She is currently pianist-accompanist at the Conservatório de Música da Metropolitana.
