Davide Manuel Câmara Lopes was born in 1991 on the island of São Miguel (Azores). He began his musical studies in 2001 at the headquarters of the Banda Nossa Senhora da Luz philharmonic orchestra. In 2004, he enrolled at the Regional Conservatory of Ponta Delgada, where he completed the 5th Grade in the Trumpet Class of Professor Vasily Chyryk. In 2009, he was admitted to the Metropolitan Professional School, in the Trumpet Class of Professor Filipe Coelho. In 2015, he began the Orchestra Instrumentalist course at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra (ANSO), in the class of Professors Sérgio Charrinho and Rui Mirra. As a soloist and musician, he has been perfecting his skills in masterclasses led by teachers such as Martin Angerer, Jeroen Berwaerts, Reinhold Friedrich, Hannes Läubin, Michael Sachs, Gäbor Tárkovi, Nenad Markovic, Frugina Hara, Stephen Mason, Wim Van Hasselt, Eric Aubier and Antoine Cure, among others.

Between 2006 and 2015, he was a full member of the Regional Orchestra ‘Lira Açoriana’. In 2011, he was invited to join the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra, and between 2015 and 2018, he was a member of the Orquestra Académica Metropolitana. In 2018, he joined the Neue Philharmonie München orchestra. He was an intern with the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa (2nd trumpet) during the 2018/2019 season and currently remains a substitute member of the same orchestra. As a guest musician, he has collaborated with the MPMP Ensemble, the Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, the Orquestra Clássica do Sul, and the Sinfonietta de Ponta Delgada, among other ensembles. He has had the opportunity to work with conductors such as Pedro Neves, Jean-Marc Burfin, Michael Zilm, Yoel Gamzou, Mykola Diadiura, Jan Cober, Pascal Verrot, Emilio Pomàrico, Yevgen Gertsev and Eivind Gullberg Jensen, among others. With these conductors, he has performed in prestigious venues such as the Herkulessaal der Residenz München (Munich), the Kongress Palais Kassel (Kassel), the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and the Centro Cultural de Lisboa.

In 2015, he performed as a soloist with the ‘Lira Açoriana’ Project Orchestra, playing Alexander Arutiunian’s Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra. In 2016, he was named winner of the ANSO Inatel Award, performing Charles Chaynes’ Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra as a soloist.
