Salomé Monteiro

Aural Education and Music Theory

Salomé Monteiro was born in 1997. She began her musical studies at the age of 6 at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga, where she completed her 8th grade piano course with Maria Amélia Ribeiro. At the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, she graduated in Choral Conducting and Music Training, where she also completed a Master’s Degree in Music Training. As part of her choral experience, in 2016 she was selected for a choral internship at the prestigious Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Since 2016, she has also been a member of the MPMP Ensemble, as a guest chorister, and since 2018, as a full chorister, of the Divino Suspiro Chapel of the Schola Cantorum of Santarém Cathedral. In 2017 she took part in the Erasmus Programme, studying at the renowned Kodály Institute of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music (Budapest). Her main interests centre on choral conducting, piano and music education.
