Ricardo Vicente

Piano

Ricardo Vicente began his musical studies at the Academia de Música e Dança do Fundão, in the piano class of Professor Tâmara Antontseva, and completed his 8th grade in 2010. At the same time as her piano studies, she began studying the violin in 2002, also completing her Grade 8 in 2010. She then took a degree in Piano for Chamber Music and Accompaniment at the National Academy of Orchestras, in the piano class of Professor Alexei Eremine. In the 2014/2015 academic year he attended the Master’s Degree in Chamber Music as a member of the Trio do Desassossego at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (Germany), in the class of Professor Markus Becker and, in December 2018, he finished the Master’s Degree in Music Teaching at the Castelo Branco School of Applied Arts, in the piano class of Professor Jill Lawson.

During her training she took part in various competitions, including the Cidade do Fundão International Competition and the Donostia San Sebastian International Competition. She has attended masterclasses with pianists Álvaro Teixeira Lopes, Fausto Neves, Constantin Sandu, Jorge Moyano and, more recently, with Galina Eguiazarova and Vladimir Viardo. With the Trio do Desassossego, he won 1st prize in the Chamber Music – Higher Level category of the 2013 Young Musicians Award, which allowed him to perform at venues such as the Casa da Música, the Centro Cultural de Belém, the Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores, the Palácio de Queluz, the Centro Cultural de Cascais, the Póvoa do Varzim International Music Festival and the Estoril Music Festival. With the same trio, he recorded the CD Na floresta do alheamento in 2015, which includes works by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Rihm.

As an accompanying pianist, he has worked with the Metropolitana Conservatory of Music Choir, the Lisbon Conservatory Little Singers Choir, the Luísa Todi Choir, the iNov’Arte Vocal Camerata and instrumental groups such as the Violins, Violas and Cellos of Colégio Moderno. She has accompanied competitors in the Cidade do Fundão International Competition, the Young Musicians Award, the National Singing Competition and the Portuguese Rotary Foundation’s Lyrical Singing Competition, among others.

Since 2012 he has been developing his teaching skills at various schools, including the Lisbon Conservatory of Music, Dance and Dramatic Art, the David Sousa Conservatory of Music, the Santarém Conservatory of Music and the Colégio Moderno School of Music. He is currently an accompanying pianist at the Artistic School of the Gregorian Institute of Lisbon and at the Metropolitana Professional School.
