Horn
He was born in Palmela in 1978. He began his musical studies at the Humanitarian Philharmonic Society (Palmela). At the age of 16, he entered the Setúbal Regional Conservatory of Music, with Adácio Pestana as his teacher. In 1996, he entered the Almada Professional Music School, where he studied under Paulo Guerreiro. In 1999, he entered the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra, where he studied with professors Bruno Hiron and Abel Pereira, completing the course in 2005.
During his academic career he performed solo with the Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Metropolitan Academic Orchestra. He has taken part in various masterclasses, courses and workshops with renowned horn players and ensembles such as Paulo Guerreiro, Abel Pereira, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra Sextet, Philip Myers, André Cazalet, Radovan Vlatkovic and Javier Bonet.
He is a full member of the PSP Symphonic Band as a soloist. He frequently collaborates with various orchestras, such as the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra do Algarve, Orquestra Foco Musical, Orquestra do Tejo, Orquestra Sinfónica de Leiria, Orquestra Sinfonieta de Lisboa, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Orquestra Nacional do Porto, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa and the Music Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
He teaches at the Sociedade de Artes e Música dos Pousos, the Orfeão de Leiria Conservatory of Arts, the Óbidos Music Academy, the Metropolitana Conservatory of Music and the Metropolitana Professional School. He participates as a trainer in various masterclasses and workshops, guiding classes and horn and brass ensembles.
