The usual songs are repeated during the Christmas season. But there are so many others that also tune into the spirit of the season! With this idea in mind, the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa invited conductor Pedro Moreira, the Hot Club de Portugal Orchestra and singer Rita Maria to celebrate different sounds that also make you smile and breathe deeply in community. Vocal jazz, big band swing and orchestral symphonism take us back to the American songbook, anchored by George Gershwin’s melodies and Nelson Riddle’s mythical orchestrations dedicated to Ella Fitzgerald and other voices from the 1960s.
