Prokofiev premiered this creation in 1936 at a Moscow theatre. In the original version, each character is assigned a different instrument in the orchestra. However, in this concert, the Metropolitan Soloists are trying to reduce everything to a surprising duo: violin and double bass. Still using these instruments, Sérgio Azevedo set out to create another piece with youngsters in mind. This time he took as his starting point a short story about freedom by the Angolan writer Ondjaki, which also tells us about the relationship between a grandfather and his grandson.
