Tickets for saleThe “Entrada” from Fernando Lopes Graça’s Divertimento is a fanfare in which the vibrant timbres of the brass family stand out and which served as the sound framework for the Portuguese Pavilion at the Lausanne International Fair in 1957. It’s also the best way to announce a week especially dedicated to the brass family by Metropolitana. There will be masterclasses, a Mixed Intensive Program (BIP) as part of the Erasmus+ mobility program that brings together the ANSO and other EU educational institutions and, above all, lots of music performed by horns, trumpets, trombones, tubas and their variants. In addition to the restrained exaltation of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, this program also features the premiere of a Trumpet Concerto by Anne Victorino d’Almeida by the virtuoso Paul Merkelo. The musical direction is entrusted to the principal conductor of the Magdeburg Opera, Svetoslav Borisov.
