The students from the various schools of Metropolitana continue to shine in music competitions in Portugal and abroad. They are proof of the excellence of our teaching, of the learning capacity and enthusiasm of the young musicians and of the dedication of our teachers.
João Fialho, a 15 years old student, who attends Escola Profissional Metropolitana, won last month the first prize of Percussion, in the category 12-15 years old, of the Concours International Eurochestries Jeunes talents en musique classique, a competition that gathered 36 participating countries this year.
The young Portuguese musician is accompanied at EPM by teachers Marco Fernandes, Miguel Herrera and Tomás Moital, who are also to be congratulated.
Former Metropolitana students also continue to spread their talent and musical competence. This is the case of André Costa, a former clarinet student from National Academy of Advanced Orchestral Studies (ANSO), who won the trial for 2nd clarinet in the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
Another clarinettist who studied at ANSO won the 1st prize in the Messina International Clarinet Competition. This is Rui Ferreira, who was a student of professor Nuno Silva.
Congratulations to all!
