Rafaela Oliveira (Gouveia, 1993) began her musical studies at the age of eight years old in Sociedade Musical Gouveense. At the age of fourteen she entered the Conservatório de Música de Seia, where she concluded the 5th grade of Clarinet in the class of professor Carlos Silva. In 2010 she entered in Escola Profissional da Serra da Estrela to learn Bassoon, where she had as teacher Ricardo Santos. The following year she joined the Escola Profissional de Música de Viana do Castelo, in the Bassoon Class of the teacher Lurdes Carneiro. In 2016 she concluded the degree in Orchestra Instrumentalist in the Superior National Academy of Orchestra, in the Class of professor Roberto Erculiani.
She is currently attending the 2nd year of the Master Course in Music Teaching at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa.
Throughout her academic education she had the opportunity to collaborate with the following orchestras: Orquestra Nacional de Sopros dos Templários, Orquestra de Câmara da Maia, Orquestra APROARTE, Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa, Orquestra Académica Metropolitana, Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, Orquestra de Câmara de Almada, Ensemble MPMP, Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and Orquestra Gulbenkian. She also had the opportunity to work with the following conductors: Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Hannu Lintu, Garry Walker, Ernest Schelle, Pedro Neves, Emilio Pomàrico, Michael Zilm, Wolfgang Lischke and Lawrence Foster, among many others.
She has attended several Bassoon masterclasses with prestigious teachers such as Rui Lopes, Ricardo Ramos, Marc Trénel, Giorgio Mandolesi, Afonso Venturieri, Magnus Nilson, Fábio Cury, Georg Klutsch and Sophie Dartigalongue.
