Double Bass

Born in Italy, he graduated from the State Conservatory and completed his studies with Maestro F. Petracchi at the Geneva Conservatory.

Between 1992 and 1994 he was a member of the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa. Since 1994 he has been Principal Double Bassist with the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa. Simultaneously, he has always collaborated as Principal Bassist with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (England), the Danish Symphony Orchestra and the Galician Symphony Orchestra (Spain).

Very active in the field of chamber music, he was also invited several times to perform as soloist in front of orchestras. Among these occasions, the interpretation of Nino Rota’s Divertimento concertante with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra conducted by David Epstein, and the world premiere of Emil Tabakov’s concerto, conducted by the composer himself, stand out.

He released his first CD as a soloist in 2009.
