Composing for Video Games
Mike Romaniak is a composer and sound designer exploring the intersection of art and technology.
In the video game industry, Mike works as an Audio Artist at Electronic Arts – one of the world’s lead video games company. He shipped two AAA titles FIFA 23 and has since served as a core member of the EA Sports FC Audio Team, delivering a yearly AAA release across seven platforms (such as Playstation, Xbox, PC).
As the Accessibility Champion on his team, he believes that sound, dialogue, and music are among the most powerful forms of communication – and he is passionate about leveraging them to make games more accessible for everyone.
Inspired by systems design, automation, and circuit bending, he transforms limitations into creative tools.
Mike has also crafted sound design for 10 exhibits at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt, worked as a mixing engineer and delivered audio and music implementation for several games on Unity, Unreal, FMOD, Wwise – which are part of his set of skills.
His work has received two Juno Award Nominations for “World Music Album of the Year”.
Mike also taught as senior professor at the University of Toronto, where he designed and taught the curriculum for Interactive Music and Sound for Video Games.
