Vladimir Kouznetsov

Born in Moscow. At the age of five, he began studying the violin and continued his studies at the Central Specialized School of Music in the Soviet Union, where he began studying double bass. He completed a degree at the Superior Tchaikovski Conservatory in Moscow and a Master’s from the Superior Mussorgski Conservatory in Ekaterinburg. He began his professional career at the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra.

In 1990 he entered the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1996 he came to Portugal, where he worked at the Orquestra de Norte. In 1998, he joined the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, where he works until now as Head of the Basses and holds the position of Professor at the Superior National Academy of Orchestra.

With regard to chamber music, he plays recitals with various groups every year and is invited to give masterclasses in different schools in Portugal. He played in the Soloists Ensemble directed by pianist Sviatoslav Richter, among others. He toured with various groups in different countries, including Portugal.
