Trumpet
Born in Lisbon, he began his musical studies with his father. He studied with José Pereira at the Regional Conservatory of Portalegre, at the Professional School of Arts of Beira Interior with Fernando Jorge Ribeiro and at the Hector Berlioz Conservatory, in Paris, with Bruno Nouvion. He was a professor at the Professional School of Arts in Beira Interior, at the Professional School of Music in Espinho and has directed several trumpet masterclasses in Portugal.
He was awarded the Young Musicians Prize competition in the Chamber Music category with the brass quintet Harmon Brass. He is a founding member of the trumpet quintet Almost6, with which he edited the CD Sopros em Laboratório and organizes the International Trumpet Festival Almost6.
He has performed the functions of 1st Trumpet at the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa since January 2003 and is a professor at the Superior National Academy of Orchestra.
