Flute

Marina Camponês began her musical studies at the Sociedade Filarmónica 25 Julho de Santa Margarida do Arrabal at the age of 12. She was later admitted to the Orfeão de Leiria, in the class of João Pedro Fonseca, where she won several prizes in the “O Melhor Aluno” competition. She subsequently attended masterclasses with Vasco Gouveia, Sandra Pina, Averil Williams, Olavo Barros, Nuno Inácio, Sophie Pérrier, Trevor Wye, Claudio Arimany, William Bennett, Jacques Zoon, Robert Winn, and Vicens Prats, among others.

She collaborates regularly with the Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, the Sinfonietta de Lisboa, the Camerata Amicis, the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, and the Orquestra Gulbenkian.

She is a member of the contemporary music group Lisbon Ensemble 20.21, with which she has performed at the Festival Música Viva, in the 2009/2010 Season of the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, in the 2011 Temporada de Música dos Açores, and at the music festivals of Viseu and Salamanca.

She has performed in public with various chamber music groups and as a soloist—in Lisbon, Porto, and throughout the country—highlighting a recital with pianist Francisco Sassetti at the Casa da Música in Porto, and recitals with harpsichordist Joana Bagulho at the Festival Cistermúsica 2011 and in the “Concerto Aberto” program of Antena 2 in 2012, broadcast live.

She completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa in 2007, studying in the flute class of Anthony Pringsheim and in the chamber music classes of Olga Prats and Nuno Inácio. She earned her undergraduate degree in 2009 at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra, in the flute class of Nuno Inácio, achieving a final exam grade of 19 out of 20. She completed her Master’s in Music Education at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra, in partnership with the Universidade Lusíada, also earning a grade of 19 out of 20 in her final flute exam. In 2015/2016, she attended the postgraduate program in transverse flute at the Escola Superior de Música da Catalunha (ESMUC), in the class of Professor Vicens Prats, principal flutist of the Orquestra de Paris.

She teaches Transverse Flute and Chamber Music at the Escola Profissional Metropolitana, the Escola de Música Nossa Senhora do Cabo, and the Academia de Música de Lisboa. She was a guest professor in the OCP2 and JOP projects organized by the Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa in 2013 and 2014, at the Estágio Nacional de Orquestra de Sopros de Portel from 2011 to 2014 and in 2017, at the Jornadas de Música de Mafra 2015, at the Ciclo de Masterclasses EPABI 2016 (Covilhã), and at the I Ciclo de Masterclasses at the Orfeão de Leiria (2017).

Her students have won prizes in national competitions such as the Prémio Bomtempo, Paços Premium, Concurso de Flauta da EMNSC, and Concurso Cultivarte.

She won 3rd Prize at the 18.º Concurso de Interpretação do Estoril (2016) and 1st Prize at the Prémio Jovens Músicos 2010, in the Transverse Flute category.

She has performed as a soloist with the Orquestra Gulbenkian and the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa.
