CONDITIONS AND SYLLABUS
– It is a condition that those interested are currently taking lessons on their orchestral instrument at a music school, or have completed Grade 8 within the last two school years.
– Interested students may have to take a short entrance exam. This decision will always be made by the orchestra’s conductor, after analysing each application. If this is necessary, all they have to do is play a piece of their choice, lasting between 2 and 8 minutes, which is at least of a level/difficulty equivalent to Grade 3.
– The weekly classes/rehearsals will take place every Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm at the Metropolitana headquarters. These lessons/rehearsals may be tutti or divided by suits, according to the orchestra’s needs, which will always be decided by the conductor and the various orchestra/ensemble teachers.
– Concerts at least once a term (usually towards the end of each term) in large concert halls outside the Metropolitana.
– Participation (optional) in study visits linked to orchestral activity.
– By enrolling, admitted students undertake to attend classes/rehearsals and participate in all concerts, with the exception of any health-related issues or other reasons of force majeure.
– This course follows the school calendar of the other courses, determined by the Ministry of Education, respecting the usual annual holidays and school breaks.
– Students on this course may, if they wish, take part in the Summer Orchestra Internship (which takes place in the 2nd week of July – intensive), benefiting from the same enrolment fee as students on other CMM courses.
TUITION
Annual tuition fee: €780 per year, which can be paid in one instalment (with a 2% discount)
